Gig Review by Mike de Jager We arrived at the venue with a van loaded with a ton of gear and because Hayseed Dixie do not have a drummer or any backline, we had the stage to ourselves. We set up as we pleased and Mick got his kit on the drum riser...a first in the world of supports :-) The guys from Hayseed Dixie were great, Dale needed some long-nose pliers and my bag is packed with loads of "just in case" trash..Dale got his wish! When we came on to stage the room was rammed to capacity. Now...Dante Fox is a full on rock band and we were really worried about playing to a country music crowd. Nevertheless, we gave it our best shot and the audience were very appreciative. We enjoyed the gig and it was indeed a privalage to support Hayseed Dixie and we wish them all the best. Thanks to all that came to the gig and everyone at RockCafe2000 - see you again soon! |

Gig Review by Mike de Jager We arrived at the venue at 6pm, the sound check was done professionally by the in house engineer at around 7pm. At 9pm we kicked off our part of the show. The sound on stage was perfect from my side. Alan and I had a ball, Mick really kicked ass, Tim played to precision and Our lady of Rock, Sue, well, what can I say...frigging superb!! We had three new tracks in the set and I think the last three weeks of relentless rehearsals paid off big time because DF was on fire, well done DF! A big thanks to everybody at RockCafe2000 and also to Tony Mills and SHY for having us on the bill. A massive thank you to the good folk of Stourbridge for all your support and we look forward to returning to see you all soon! cheers Mike |

Manchester, UK | Gig Review by Mike de Jager The Musicbox is a great venue in a big city and the young engineer that ran our sound check was on the ball and very pro. We had to rush through our sound check to beat the door opening deadline but made it with plenty of time to spare. With very few in, we got up there and did our best - the band sounded killer and with very little room to move on the stage, a great show all round. Many thanks to Tony and the guys from SHY for having us on, all the best for the rest of your tour - see you in Crewe next year! |

Gig Review by Mike The last time we played at the Limelight was on the 1st June 2005 when we supported Vixen and Girlschool. We had only been together a few weeks back then. Eight months later and the band is tight, we have a load more new songs on the set list and the new Dante Fox is more confindent and we played a blinding set. With not many in, the support band - VooDoo Dolls, played a superb set of their own material which the crowd enjoyed. Our set was killer, it was our first headline gig and we really gave it everything, Sue had a good repore with the crowd and we all enjoyed it. I think it goes without saying, we admire the Limelight's commitment to live music and totally appreciate them having us on. Many thanks to our fans for your support at the gig, also to the staff and management of the Limelight for looking after us and to the sound guy, you are a star mate, thank you! |
